YOU may think that with just 17 entries there might not be much value in the Queen Mother Champion Chase. But with Sprinter Sacre likely to be the hottest favourite of the Festival, punters looking at ante-post Cheltenham odds might be pleasantly surprised.

Yes, the Henderson hotpot will probably win with his legs tied together, but his prohibitive odds mean some class horses are massively overpriced. So each-way punters looking for ante-post value could have a field day, especially if the field cuts up to no more than eight or nine runners. FLEMENSTAR and CUE CARD will probably run elsewhere at the festival and I can only see SIMONSIG running if anything goes wrong with Sprinter Sacre.

Take the brilliant SANCTUAIRE: he is generally a 12/1 shot, while 2012 Queen Mother winner FINIAN’S RAINBOW is a big-looking 10s. The rapidly improving WILLIAM’S WISHES is around the 20/1 mark which again could be solid each-way value.

Those looking for something at an even bigger price could do worse than the perennial each-way dish KUMBESHWAR. He’s got little chance of winning, but as he did in the Tingle Creek at Sandown, he could nick a place at a huge price.
