Daily Dabble: Bank Holiday tips

SIX cards today and plenty to go at… Old favourite BAHAMIAN DESERT did us a good turn last week and he turns out again at Ripon (2.35). Danny Tudhope gets on well with this improver and he carries a penalty for his Musselburgh win last week. This looks a weaker race and I think he can go in again. Still at Ripon, the Listed two-year-old contest at 3.45 is a very decent little race and Still On Top will be strongly fancied after a solid run at York, But WHITMAN also ran well at York under a big weight in a competitive nursery and he is marginally preferred.

COLLABORATION (3.40) should relish the soft ground at Epsom. In fact, it could turn heavy with lots of the wet stuff forecast.

Ann Duffield has her juveniles in great form and SILVER STREAK is of interest at Newcastle (12.45). After a promising debut the gelding was fancied to win last time but pulled far too hard. Expect Graham Lee to try to settle him and come from behind. If he does settle he should go very close.

STAGS LEAP has won twice at Cartmel over hurdles and reverts to the Flat (4.10 Newcastle). The excellent Paul Mulrennan takes the mount and he can go in.

Richard Johnson is on 73 winners already as he tries to win the Jump jockeys’ title and he has six strong looking rides at Cartmel. The one that stands out is PANIS ANGELICUS who could be thrown in at the weights.

Be lucky!
