Daily Double July 15

NUMBER ONE LONDON won well at Newton Abbot but, bizarrely, drops well back in trip to 1m 7f at Uttoxeter (2.50) today. Giving 6lb to John Ferguson’s Silent Movie looks a tough task but I liked the way Number One London travelled and jumped last time and Uttoxeter can sometimes take some getting in terms of stamina. He has oodles of that.

It is interesting that Paddy Brennan travels to Uttoxeter for one ride in the seller. KING MURO (3.20) won on the Flat for Andrew Balding although has proved a bit of a tearaway over Jumps, refusing to settle. He is not one to risk the shopping money on but the trip and ground look ideal for him and this is a desperate race

Elsewhere, GIRLS IN A BENTLEY has shown a glimmer of promise and I would not be surprised if she outruns her odds at Catterick (2.00) while THE CASHEL MAN (3.40 Catterick) has won two from two and has a big rise in the weights to cope with. He may have the scope to cope.

SEVE ran well at Chester when fancied by connections and should go close at Sandown (6.00) while CAHILL is worth an each-way punt in the eight-runner handicap at 8.50.

Be lucky!
