TODAY’S advice is an each-way double. BATHOS kicks things off in the opener at Newcastle. He has been as green as grass in his two runs so far but has shown definite promise, especially at Beverley last time when he got going too late over 5f. Today’s extra furlong looks badly needed and hopefully the penny will drop. I suspect he is better than he has shown so far.

The other tip is SEA OF GREEN who has been flagged up in our notebook horses to follow column. She flew home in her last run and could offer an each-way alternative to the Fahey and Godolphin hotpots in the 2.40 at Newcastle.

PS Paddy Power ran a race full of promise at Ascot and nominal improvement should see him go very close at Haydock (6.45) while Manchestar could also run well for Richard Fahey. Blossomtime and Genres are also strongly fancied at Newmarket.
