Daily Punt: So Kean on Edmund

TOP quality racing across both codes today. John Gosden is making hay at the moment and everything he runs should be respected, while My Tent Or Yours wears a hood and earplugs in the Scottish Champion Hurdle. Then there is the Scottish National at Ayr and Tidal Bay trying to treat several young guns a lesson. Here are five that will carry my money today…

MONTBAZON: I backed him each-way at a big price in the County Hurdle and he ran an excellent third. He has apparently come on for the run and in receipt of 21lb could give My Tent Or Yours most to do.

MANYRIVERSTOCROSS: Won well over two miles at Ascot and this looks to be his optimum trip. He should go in again in the Listed chase at Ayr (3.15) despite a 6lb rise in the weights.

EDMUND KEAN: An excellent renewal of the Scottish National and I’m sticking with one of my horses to follow in Edmund Kean. He is full of potential and although inexperienced this race is often won by a novice chaser. Godsmejudge, Green Flag and Trustan Times are all respected but I feel this may have been a long-term plot by David Pipe.

GABRIEL’S KAKA: Fifth in the Lincoln where Richard Fahey said he ran with the choke out. More patient tactics could bear fruit in the Newbury Spring Cup (3.30).

SHALONE: Won at a big price around this time last season and is one to follow on decent ground. If it has dried out enough at Bangor he is worth an each-way tipple in the 3m handicap hurdle (4.50).

1pt win Montbazon

2pt win Manyriverstocross

1pt win Edmund Kean

1pt win Gabriel’s Kaka
