Dark horses: Saturday selections

moosePLENTY to go at today and a competitive but challenging final day at Royal Ascot. We even have the equine lunatic MAD MOOSE gracing the royal meeting. Let’s hope he doesn’t disgrace himself in front of such distinguished company. Here are a few who may have slipped under the radar…

SILVER LIME: Progressive last season, he looks overpriced at 22/1 and is good each-way value in the Duke of Edinburgh Handicap.

BANOVALLUM: Ran well last time and has been dropped a couple of pounds too. He looks another each-way contender in the 2.50 at Newmarket.

DISCO INFERNO: Brian Meehan has always thought a lot of this chap and he makes a belated debut at Newmarket (4.40). St Elmo’s Fire is also well thought of.

FINDOG: Was an unlucky loser the other day and makes a quick reappearance in a bid to make amends at Ayr (5.25).
