Dark Horses: Sedenoo to step up

darkhorsesPETHER’S Moon will be a warm order to give Richard Hannon and Richard Hughes another winner in the 1m maiden at Kempton today (3.50). But this race could well have one or two unexposed beasts lurking in the background. The one that interests me is SEDENOO, who is trained by the upwardly mobile Marco Botti.

This son of Cape Cross cost $80,000 as a yearling and made an eyecatching debut over the course and distance recently. He broke smartly but was shuffled back early in the race after being hampered. He still managed to get to the heels of the leaders before staying on to finish 6th of the 13 runners. That was a decent maiden and I’m not sure today’s is any stronger. With more luck in running and nominal improvement, Sedenoo could reward each-way money at around the 16/1 mark.
