Dark Horses: Spencer perfect for Uchenna

simcockUCHENNA has always pleased her trainer David Simcock (left) and she caught the eye with a striking debut run at Kempton. Today she looks to have a good chance of confirming that promise over a mile at Goodwood (2.55) in what is a decent maiden. At Kempton, Uchenna was slowly away and outpaced early on, but she came through late to finish just four lengths behind the winner. Jamie Spencer rides today and is the ideal man to deliver her late. Honor Bound is an interesting newcomer as she is a half sister to Irish Derby winner Treasure Beach and Royal Ascot winner Elidor and should be noted in the market.

LYN VALLEY is highly regarded by the Mark Johnston team and can follow up his maiden victory in the 7f conditions race at the Sussex track (3.30), while CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT, who finally got his head in front at Beverley, has a good chance of following up off the same mark with Ryan Moore in the saddle in the 4.05

At Lingfield (4.45) PYJAMA DAY is progressing well and Hugo Palmer has always liked her. She has a decent chance in the opener.
