ZAWIYAH is among our two year olds to follow and she makes her second appearance at Windsor tonight (5.40). She showed distinct promise on her debut and should know a lot more about her job tonight. She could upset the jolly Merletta. In the same race Presidente and Master of Alkmaar are both well regarded and should be noted in the market. John Gosden’s Simple Magic will be a warm order in the 2yo maiden at Wolverhampton at 3.15 but the one-horse market means there could be some each-way thievery to be had. EMERALD BREEZE ran better than her finishing positions suggested at Glorious Goodwood and she is worth an each-way look at silly price. Division Belle might be 100/1 in the same race but her trainer likes her, so don’t be surprised if she shows some improvement on her debut, when she was plum last at Ascot.
Charlie Hills sends Lovelocks up to Ayr for the opening race and the journey may well be worthwhile. She showed a lot of promise in a hot maiden at Ascot but could meet her match in Mark Johnston’s POWER UP, who will be hard to beat if progressing from an excellent debut run at Nottingham.
Tonight at Thirsk Ribbleton will probably start odds-on in the 6.00 but James Given runs three and BAILEYS FOREVER could upset the jolly. He found 5f too sharp last time and the 7f looks tailormade.
