JUMPING will be the name of the game over the big fences at Aintree on Saturday with both the Becher Chase and the Grand Sefton over the shorter trip. The standout bet is in the latter race where MIDNIGHT APPEAL could be just the type for Liverpool. Wayne Hutchinson got a lovely tune out of this boy at Bangor recently where he sprang a 25/1 shock in a competitive handicap over 3m. The drop in trip shouldn’t be an issue and he won with a bit in hand that day. The 7lb rise is also within his compass. What really impressed at Bangor was the way he glided over the fences and he looks just the type for Aintree.

His stablemate Walkon should make a bold bid in the Becher Chase earlier on the card but looks to have a stiff task at the weights. PLANET OF SOUND loves Aintree, will relish the drying ground and is worth an each-way punt.

The conditions of the Listed chase suit THE GIANT BOLSTER. He would be giving weight all round if it was a handicap. He deserves a nice pay day.

TANTE SISSI (12.50 Sandown): Ignore her recent form figures. She is very talented and extremely effective on decent ground.

WHISPER (1.20 Sandown): Ran a race full of promise on his reappearance and it is inconceivable that he won’t be involved at the business end here.

BALDER SUCCES: (1.50 Sandown): A fantastic race. But the jumping prowess of Balder Succes could give him the edge.

MILORD: (2.25 San): Has been knocking on the door and ran a blinder at Ascot last time.

GUNNER FIFTEEN: (12.25 Chep): Highly regarded by Fergal O’Brien and could make a winning debut.

ANNACOTTY: (12.55 Cheps): Worth sticking with this fellow. Very talented and could be hard to beat if allowed to dominate.

SAUSALITO SUNRISE (1.25p Chepstow): Always been highly regarded and this could be the race to get off the mark.

IMJOEKING: (1.40 Wetherby): Should have won last time and looks a natural chaser. Should atone here.
