Six meetings today and six more tomorrow. Great weather. There’s no excuse not to go racing this weekend.
But finding winners will be tricky as the faster ground leads to bigger and more competitive fields: a far cry from the recent bog-like conditions.
At Goodwood Expense Claim should complete a four-timer. He was most impressive at Newbury last Saturday, while Henry Cecil’s Romantic could go well at a decent price in the opener at Haydock. Interestingly he is Tom Queally’s only ride at the meeting.
Musselburgh this evening sees Our Boy Jack make a quick return after being touched off at Hamilton last Friday. He should oblige for Richard Fahey.
Every race at Catterick’s evening meeting looks a puzzle but it’s worth noting that Eve Johnson Houghton sends two runners, Must Be Me and Rain Dance, up from Berkshire, and both are ridden by Silvestre de Sousa.
Good luck (you’ll need it today)!
