A TYPICALLY busy Friday. Lots of racing. Probably too much. Six cards including four in the north, and you can guarantee there will be coming days when there will be no racing at all oop north. Who would be a fixture planner, hey? Anyway Newcastle’s Northumberland Plate meeting continues and one of the best races of the day is the Hoppings Listed race for fillies. In this one…
…I really like COVERT LOVE. Hugo Palmer’s three-year-old is on an upward curve and won a strong looking handicap at York with real authority. Hopefully the forecast showers will stop the ground firming up too much and she is taken to beat a good field to gain some black type.
The second selection is SECOND CUT in the 5.15 at Doncaster. He has been improving slowly but is knocking hard on the door and although Darrell Rivers looks a huge danger, David O’Meara’s three-year-old looks ripe to get his head in front.
PS Elsewhere STAGS LEAP won well at Cartmel at the last meeting and can defy a rise in the weights under Henry Brooke who rides the track as well as any jockey.
Be lucky!
gooday! I find your daily insight both reasoned and informative. would recommend any punter to read and add selections to their shortlist for the days racing. one small criticism…could you please always add the actual race TIMES when writing? it would save having to sort thro the racecards prematurely to find them. keep up the sterling work! regards, steve.
Thanks Steve and a that’s a fair point. Cheers
Jason I’m enjoying the daily “double” , could you try and put the meeting/time against each selection, just takes a bit of effort when on a mobile to find the race name etc
Good call! Will do. Thanks Neil.
