The best Cheltenham Festival tips could be the 2013 #ToiletTips

toiletbannerSPORTS betting site OLBG.com took over sponsorship of the David Nicholson Mares’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival last year and created a huge buzz in one of the most unexpected manners possible during the finest week of racing on the planet. OLBG.com is a sports betting community that includes a monthly tipping competition, a busy forum, and information and reviews for all the major bookmakers. OLBG members are used to exchanging hot tips but even they may have been surprised about the story that was to develop during the 2012 Cheltenham Festival…

As part of their sponsorship package of what is now the OLBG Mares’ Hurdle, the advertising spots they were given (and what could easily have been perceived as a bum steer) were above the urinals at Cheltenham racecourse where they chose to place posters containing 10 tips from OLBG members for the Cheltenham Festival. Amazingly, the first eight of those tips were successful at combined starting odds of 48,030/1: at the recommended odds the accumulator would have been even more profitable.

This created plenty of on and off-course buzz with TV reports about the feat and #ToiletTips even trended on Twitter at one point during the Cheltenham Festival. Unfortunately the last two tips on the Friday couldn’t oblige but the final tip still finished second leaving the newly christened Toilet Tips with a record of eight winners, one second place and one unplaced effort.

After the success of the 2012 Toilet Tips, it is no surprise that OLBG have been keeping tight-lipped about the 2013 Toilet Tips that will once again be viewed by every Cheltenham punter who visits the loos during the Festival. Last night OLBG representative Dean Goddard revealed some of the Toilet Tips in the Official Festival Preview Evening which can be viewed here.

The best way to keep up to date with these Cheltenham 2013 Tips is to use the hashtag #ToiletTips on Twitter. @OLBG will update their followers each day with the tips for that day’s races. Tech-savvy punters might even be able to locate the full list of Toilet Tips early!
